Society Activity--Image management

    In late March we cooperated with several societies to increase student awareness regarding image management. The “English Society” from the College of Humanities and Sciences of Northeast Normal University, the “E-shine English Society” of Changchun Taxation College, and the “Twilight star Society” of Jilin Agricultural University organized and hosted three lectures titled, “Let your appearance open a successful road.” 
   
    We invited Gloria, an image management consultant from Singapore, as the speaker of the lectures. First, she started with “the power of one’s image,” which dealt with the importance of first impressions for individual success. Then she emphasized how “personal image” helps people to be successful in their careers and social life. The lectures were highly spoken of by teachers and students alike. Gloria is a member of the execute committee of the Business and Professional Women Association of Singapore, and she is a member of the Subcommittee of the International Image Management Consultant Association. Her ability to speak Chinese and English helps her to give training at many organizations.
    In conclusion, everyone makes himself or herself known by image, and people all around judge them by their image. Yet image not only includes appearance and clothing but also factors that reflect inner character, such as manners of speech and behavior, and facial expressions and gestures.
