Volcano Activity

Finally fulfilling our desire and testifying to the saying that there is “shine after the snow,” we arrived at Yingtong Volcano. We had been looking forward to this trip for a long time,
and we were very excited the moment our bus arrived at the foot of Xijian Mountain and we saw the volcano in person. We quickly got off the bus and began to climb the amazing volcano that looked like it had been chopped by a sharp axe. After climbing the mountain together and then coming down from the top, we enjoyed real Chinese food for lunch at a nearby restaurant. Matthew, a friend from America, spoke highly of the delicious Chinese food. When lunch was finished, we faced a greater challenge—climbing the snow-covered Dagu Mountain. As we climbed the mountain and struggled through the snow, we encouraged each other with kind words and helped each other by holding a rope. At last we conquered the volcano! It was an exciting experience—something you can’t understand unless you experience it yourself. After we finished climbing the snowy mountain, we played games between the “Magma” team and the “Lava” team. Even though the games were very competitive, we laughed and were crazy all together. This Lifepegs trip helped us to learn what teamwork is in practice, and it gave us a chance to develop personal leadership.
