Boat rides and fish dishes, kite flying and mountain climbing, UNO games and water relays, talks about love and relationships, a bonfire and a barbeque: LifePegs' May holiday excursion to Song Hua Hu gave students and foreign friends three days and two nights of fun and growth together.
Dyna Lynn Madalag, a foreign teacher at Changchun Taxation College, said that the ferry boat ride to Five Tiger Island was her favorite part of the trip. "I just love mountains and oceans," she said. "I was able to behold God's amazing wonders like the mountains and the lake. I want to buy a house on an island someday!"
In two teaching and discussion sessions held in the hotel's conference room, the students and teachers learned about the five "love languages," which help us understand how to demonstrate love to other people, and about the differences between love and infatuation.
"My love languages are gift-giving and encouraging words," said Christine, a freshman from Hebei Province. "I like to receive small gifts and to send small gifts to my friends. I also like to hear encouraging words from my teachers and parents." She said that by understanding our friends' love languages, we can more effectively show love in ways that our friends will like.
"This was my second LifePegs trip," Christine said, "and if I have time, I also want to go on the next one."
