Changbai Mountain Trip

On August 18th at 8:00 a.m., Lifepegs started the summer trip to the “No.1 Mountain in Northeast China”—Changbai Mountain. After a six hour journey on bus, we arrived at the Erdao Baihe Town at the foot of Changbai Mountain.
We visited the town in the afternoon. We slipped into the Garden of The Beauty Pine, and observed its beauty. In the sculpture park, we saw various sculptures, and were immersed in an atmosphere of elegant art. The next day, we made our way up to Changbai Mountain. All of us enjoyed ourselves as we visited the waterfall, and some of us even tried some trick photography with it. While we were exploring the underground forest, we saw many ancient trees. The delicious eggs boiled in the hot springs made us say “wow”. However, the weather wasn’t cooperating, or maybe the Heavenly Lake was too shy to meet so many people. So at last we only got a foggy view of the lake under its misty “veil”. At the end of our trip, many members couldn’t bear to leave the beautiful spot or each other because they had established some deep friendships on the journey.

One of the participants of the trip, Sandra, remarked, “Our trip to Changbai Mountain is more than a simple trip. It not only made me experience the beautiful scenery and magic of nature, but also let me know my friends better.”
Timmy, a foreign member of our trip commented, “I really enjoyed my time on the Lifepegs trip to Changbai Mountain. The trip was a three day, two night trip to the famous volcano lake and surrounding scenic areas. One of the highlights for me was the ride up the mountain. We rode in SUVs and vans up the mountain at high speeds with no seatbelts! Around every turn (both up and down the mountain) the wheels were squealing and everyone was flying around in the car having a blast! I definitely will not forget that soon. I was very impressed with the excellent job Lifepegs did at organizing and executing this trip. I enjoyed being able to see another part of China while spending it with Chinese friends. I look forward to future opportunities I have to travel around China with Lifepegs.”
